Notes
--------
If you're down with the kids right now or remember the days of the reggae
soundsystem at Notting Hill Carnival or just appreciate chilled out dub music
then you'll be very pleased about the release of 'Sound Iration In Dub'.
Originally released in 1989 when the UK created their own blend of dub music
that was making some of the main influences of reggae for example, Augustus
Pablo, Jah Tubby and Scientist listen. After the 80's synth influences and the
cosmic inspiration of Lee Scratch Perry, Nick Manasseh and Scruff got together
and created Sound Iration and the Manasseh Soundsystem.
It's a real treat to have this national treasure re-released 20 years on with
14 tracks of unheard material. What makes this album unique was the creativity
and new sound these guys made. For many at the West Indian Centre you can still
hear this style from the heads keeping dub alive and real yet Sound Iration was
part of the source of the fusion of dub and experimental sonic sounds born in
the UK.
I love this sound and feel rather privileged to have found 'Sound Iration In
Dub'. It's not like I haven't heard this sound before, in fact many times,
however when you realise the influence Sound Iration have had it makes it quite
special. This is a cool album and nice selection of classic UK dub sounds. It's
certainly accessible to people wanting to hear this sound for the first time
and a must for the heads. A perfect album for those lazy sunshine days.
enjoy!!!
