Notes
--------
Like no other musical group, Les Babacools are guarantors for a colourful and
energetic life-experience. Their excellent mixture of Reggae, Mestizo, HipHop
and Urban Beats is without any equivalent within the german music scene. A wide
line-up is responsible for the realisation of their caribbean-influenced
mixture. Based on a classical instrumentation (bass, guitar, drums, keyboards),
the cast is extended through percussion and dope MCing. The groups lead singers
Lobstarr (english vocals) and Don Caramelo (spanish vocals) are well
acknowledged within the german reggae-massive, not only through their
participation on several compilations and projects (Raggabund and Caramelo &
Criminal). Lobstarr should be known to reggae-lovers, because of his long termed
membership of Hamburg's Silly Walks Soundsystem. Les Babacools have recently
been presented to a larger audience on Gentleman's Confidence-Tour (2005) and on
highly acclaimed performances at the big domestic reggae-festivals Summerjam and
Chiemsee Reggae Summer. Altogether more than 250 concerts on the Ya Basta Tour
2003/2004 and Mundo Stereo Tour 2005/2006 made it possible for the group to
confirm their reputation as excellent live-performers also beyond German
boarders. The band, existing for 16 years now, is said to be a founding-member
of Munich's reggae-scene. Their side project Babacools Soundsystem takes place
once a month in Munich's highly recognised Cafe Cord.
