Presented here is this early chapter in the career of the
enigmatic Augustus Pablo, nee Horace Swaby, the
keyboard/melodica wizard (and soon-to-be) who, in just half
a-dozen years, became an inspiration to a whole generation
of musicians and achieved 'legend in his own lifetime'
status. Produced by Enos McLeod, something of a renowned
vocal talent himself, THRILLER is the second collection of
the works of Pablo - following THIS IS... AUGUSTUS PABLO and
preceding ITAL DUB - and feaatures the precociously gifted
youth-man versioning a stack of popular tunes from the
Seventies. Such tracks as Burning Spear's "Foggy Road",
Bread's "Everything I own" (a reggae hit for Ken Boothe) and
Carl Malcom's "No Jestering" are given innovative and
invigorating piano, clavinet and melodica treatments in what
was to become known as Pablo's 'Far East Style'.
