Notes
--------
This album contains some of the most important sides in
Big Youths remarkable career: "The Killer" and "Ace 90
Skank" were his two first big hits, while the other
titles on Side One show him handling first-class rhythms
- Leroy Smart's "Pride & Ambition", Gregory Isaacs' "One
One Cocoa", Horace Andy's "Don't Think About Me", Dennis
Brown's original "Money In My Pocket" and Keith & Tex's
"Stop That Train" - with the classic ease of his '72/'73
style. The self-produced tracks on Side Two show the
progression that Big Youth made from 1973 up to '77 - all
appeared on his own "Negusa Nagast" (Amharic for "King Of
Kings") and "Augustus Buchanan" labels and show Big Youth
making his own music, the way he wanted it. It often
seemed that he was straining at the leash while working
for other producers, as though saying what he wanted
would spoil the commercial chances of the record. With
no-one to tell him what to say or how to say it, Big
Youth could do as he pleased, and the results showed that
he knew what he was doing. "Hell Is For Heroes", "Natty
Cultural Dread", "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" and "Ten
Against One" were all best-sellers in their time and are
still regarded as all-time classics by reggae fans.

enjoy!!!
